I'm imagining that currently they're a lot of sturm und drang on the fix being in for Hilary Cli... sorry, I mean Taylor Swift of course, winning the superbowl, for Biden. I'll stick with mostly not allowing it into my world of info sources.

I used to listen to talk radio, a habit I picked up from my objectively crazy
mother. When Rush Limbaugh was alive, I’d make a game out of how long I
could stand to listen before shutting it off. The record minimum was about
two seconds; I turned on the radio, heard “feminazis” and immediately
turned it off.

that is not remotely true. Trump was one of the biggest presences. All his
followers, trolls and bots swarmed Twitter daily until he used it to help
promote his Jan 6 coup attempt and (finally) got kicked off for his infinite
violations.
There isn’t the slightest truth to this assertion.
What prompted you to say that?

It’s the clear change in algorithm that is worrying me.
While I have looked @ both left & right wing content, I certainly didn’t go
looking for this one world unifying conspiracy that is clearly believed by a
large number of people.
& I certainly didn’t go looking for footage of people getting beaten up &
killed. Why does an algorithm push that? Why would it not try to discourage
pushing such content?
I am trying to remove such content from my feed by fast scrolling past it,
but sometimes it can take a short while to realise what it is & the damage is
done & im back @ square one again.
Frustrating.

When the owner of X is guilty of making the place so inhospitable, I wonder why you are trying to stay?
Musk is guilty (through his own posts) of personally promoting Russian propaganda, antisemitism, and launching the presidential campaign for the most powerful homophobic politician in America (DeSantis).
What is the lure that has you on X, providing Musk with more free-content and your personal data while you do his housekeeping to make his toxic wasteland site tolerable for you?

First, this seems to imply it wasn't always this way and the Musk brought it in and ruined it. Not true even a little. Trolls and harassers, knee-jerk reactionaries and Dunning-Kruger "experts" were always there in force. Likewise political loons of every sort. That said, a lot of cool smart and talented people were (are) there too. Its far less oppressive environment than Facebook, and if Elon can clean out the pot-stirring bots (so far not working), it can calm the hell down a bunch. As long as I can curate what I see to what I want to, it's a lot of fun.
Somebody on Twitter recently noted that Elon is finding out the way things used to be weren't some wokeist plot, but just a company trying to survive, and that he will eventually be forced to implement similar policies (already starting to happen). All well and good to claim to be a "free speech absolutist" until people start speaking freely. Everything is easy in the abstract.
I think he has a far better chance turning it into the "do everything app" (hence, the name change) than his other stated goal of making it the world's town square. Personally, i don't think that's possible, because hardly anyone wants to listen to the other side, much less be convinced by them to change their mind. On that front, it's the "people talking past each other app".

No. That is not remotely implied by what you reposted from my comment, and is directly contradicted by my other post which you left out.
If you think it's a lot of fun to donate your time to helping keep Elon Musk's fragile site tolerable for him, that's on you. I can't see myself knowingly putting ten cents of value in that psychotic anti-Semite's pocket, which is more what I meant to imply with my question.

As for me contributing anything, considering he's curtailing the reach of free accounts with his pay-to-play blue check scheme, I have *far* less reach than I ever did before judging from the metrics. But I'm not there for me, I'm there for the content I follow. And you did ask.
And while you may reasonably dislike Musk for any number of reasons, I still think he is far (far) more trustworthy than Zuck or those guys over at Tribel. There aren't many social media sites that aren't saddled with a lot of negatives.

“Far” twice! Yikes! A low bar to be sure, but I wouldn’t trust Musk with anything let alone my personal data. Every company in the world is saddled with “a lot of negatives” if you dig deep enough. It ultimately comes down to with whom I choose to do my business. I choose not to buy a Tesla, vocally promote Space X or use X because I find Musk, in word and deed, abhorrent on every level imaginable.

Why am I still on the platform.
That’s a really good question & one I often ask myself.
The answer is that, buried amongst the bile that is pushed, I can still get
insight into the bits that I was originally using the site for.
Politicians still use the site, & it is useful to see the messages they are
using, from all parties.
I wouldn’t watch GB News if I was paid, but I think it is important to see
what they are saying - I can see this from the site.
