"We all cherish our children's futures."

••

Do we? I see precious little evidence of this. Individually we talk the talk, but as a species. . . . ?

As a species, we're aggressively destructive to our environment, much as any parasite left unchecked will kill its host. We think we are smarter than that, and on an individual level many of us are, but at the aggregate level we have proven repeatedly that we are not.

Years ago I saw a panel of experts discussing if America loves its children. Their answer was that most Americans love their own children, but too few love all the other children.

Very tribal. Very American.

Part of me does wonder whether we believe the con that life in a futuristic
dome on another planet would be better than life in the open air on this
planet. Which has led to a position where we just do not value what we have
here, because we could move to there (not that such a place is proven -
look @ the mess we made in designing biosphere 2 for example).

I personally would prefer we get here right before we try to prove we can
mess up there.

 QUOTE:
The liberal left couldn't accept that he was killed by a communist.

I don’t know what it’s like in the universe you crossed over from, but this seemed like a non-reason for JFK conspiracy theories in this one. Especially with some of them holding the Castro regime responsible.

Weren’t most JFK conspiracies centered around what is now termed the “Deep State” by right-wingers?
