It was always Storm and Sprite.•• Notoriously, at the time, when Banshee's daughter showed up, Moira expressed jealousy, and Storm commiserated by comparing it to the way Stevie Hunter was intruding on her "special relationship" with Kitty.

God's sake, how long did Claremont want to wait before exposing their lesbian relationship? How badly did he want a lesbian X-Man? There were only Marvel Girl, Polaris, Storm, Sprite, and Rogue (who kinda obviously would've been a bad choice.) Marvel Girl was "dead", Polaris was A) already involved and B) not a regular, and as noted, a relationship might almost be masturbatory.
Was he that fixated on a sexual relationship in the X-Men? With the guys and Ororo, it didn't seem that he emphasized with with anyone. But Kitty, Yukio, and who else was waiting in the wings? Then Forge, then T'Challa... seems as if Diana wasn't the only f*ck toy in John Byrne's repertoire although in NO WAY by Mr. Byrne himself!

At least when I was working with him, Chris seemed to have bisexual as a default setting for most females. Remember Colleen and Misty?

Hmmmm. Nightcrawler's hands and feet appear to be bound. And somehow that's effective against a teleporter? Hmmmmm.

The methadone is doing the trick.
These pages are exciting and fun all on their own-- like that Community episode that was a clip-show of episodes that never happened.
Thank you!

By the way, what did you think about Banshee's daughter? Would she have ever been a character you would've come up with or wanted to include in some story line?

Hereditary Mutations. Does that make her still a mutant?

Andrew Davey - absolutely. In fact, it confirms it. Successful mutations survive and get incorporated into the human genome. That's how nature differentiates between good mutations (e.g., losing our appendix) and bad mutations (e.g., having our lungs on the outside.)
One has to assume it breeds true for super mutants, but New Mutants seemed to be Claremont's OWN MUTANT TEAM. And instead of setting it fifteen to twenty years in the future, he just made it basically a new X-Men team.
M'self, I would like to see X-Men: the Next Generation. Some familiar characters and their children, some new children of the mutant variety, maybe Scott Summers as Mr. M. (in Earth-X) and NO WOLVERINE.
Sure, it would be an imaginary setting. Aren't they all? I would just want Claremont to keep his hands off it, and Marvel to let it proceed without any crossovers.
Sigh... and I want a new puppy for my birthday too.

I really like the flat black of Sprite’s original X-Men-style uniform.

A little googling informs me that Banshee’s daughter, Theresa, had a relationship with Jamie Maddrox, which ended when she learned it was one of his duplicates, not the original. Hm. I can’t say I ever thought of Maddrox’s multiple forms being anything other than “the original”, each part of the whole. It’s kind of in the name, isn’t it? Multiple Man.
