Bloomberg's campaign was a disaster. But others have pointed out that by creating a base of votes via nothing but $500 million in advertising, and then encouraging those people to vote for Biden, he has helped to thwart Sanders and his wealth tax, that could have cost Bloomberg far more money in the long term.

Bloomberg is wealthy enough I doubt he worries much about Sanders’ taxes, except as a matter of principle.

Think I saw that 500M to him is like $800 to average American. Not sure that can be right.

Supposedly he’s worth $60,000,000,000.

It is not just much higher taxes that will affect Bloomberg.
Bernie proposes that companies with over $100 million in revenue distribute 2% of the company to employees until they own 20%. He also wants 45% of the board of directors voted on by employees.

I went to Bernie’s site, and yes, he could nearly push me toward Trump. I’d likely go Libertarian again.

Dang. That would almost pay off my college loans.

I read Mike Bloomberg is forming a "one-man super PAC" to support the Democratic nominee, oppose Trump and support down-ballot Democrats running in November.
It will include field offices in six battlegrounds: AZ, FL, MI, NC, WI and PA.
He's NOT going away.

Bloomberg not going away and supporting the Democratic candidate might not be the worst thing in the world. Especially if he actually gets under Trump's onion skin hide.

I linked this in another thread, but here's an interview with Rick Wilson, a former GOP strategist who's masterminded deceptive anti-Democrat campaigns in the past. He is a traditional Republican who is virulently anti-Trump, and he has some good ideas about how to run against him. Bloomberg should hire him and blanket the airwaves in swing states with ads like what he suggests below: First off, I would talk about the stories of real people in the swing states. "I'm farmer X, I am a soybean farmer in Iowa. Donald Trump said that this trade war was going to help me. My farm is in foreclosure now." And we do have record farm foreclosures in Wisconsin and Iowa right now. "I'm a steelworker in Pennsylvania. Donald Trump promised his trade war was going to help me. Instead, our plant is closed." There have been no new steel plants built. He promised this. This is the reality. Tell real stories of real people. You talk about people who are still living in a world where household debt is at record levels. Home values are kind of flat right now. People are starting to feel that 2007, 2008 feeling in the wind, that we still haven't solved the problem of college loan debt. In fact, this administration is making it much more difficult.

Those ads sound like a good idea. But if Biden is the nominee, that only works if he's able to articulate some kind of plan to solve the problems he's pointing out. You may hate Bernie's proposed solutions, but his proposals are out there and very clear and accessible. Just pointing out how bad Trump is, and he's awful, isn't enough without some prescription to do better. Biden can't bank on his record and reputation on this, because those both reveal him as a shill for the big banks in Delaware. His bankruptcy bill support is going to come back to haunt him in a big way. He's got to get ahead of it and layout some real proposals now.
