Snag is, Dusty, if I start selling these things for anything other than "private use" I run afoul of all sorts of copyright considerations. And, if I lisenced the use from ^^***** or DC, their piece of the pie would leave me with very little profit after printing costs.

JB, there is a precedent for this.  I'm not sure if you know Steve Rude personally but last year he released a sketchbook entitled "Steve Rude commissions 2005" featuring Marvel & DC characters amongst others.  Colour cover with black and white pieces inside together with comentaries below each one.  72 pages in all.  Another outlet for selling these is Bud Plant where I picked up my copy.

Certainly worth checking out.

One way or another Jim Warden is getting an e-mail from me today,  Just need to come up with a subject matter, how does something to do with FF 13 grab you?

Do you ever do any of these for just for yourself?

John,  this is absolutely gorgeous. You get better with age like a fine wine. I am not an expert on art or what goes into creating something like this. I do feel though that as a fan your work is the best thing to happen to comics. Thank you and the buyers for allowing the fans to see the finished commissions.

John,

Curious, have you ever received an "open" request to draw whatever you want?  I know most of us want to see certain heroes, or situations, or recreations, but what would you want draw if someone simply said - here is some $$$, make it 20x30 (or whatever size), and just have fun?

If this topic has already been covered, my apologies.  Best...

- Scott

I'm assuming that this commission involved a very satisfied customer.

DANG, I wanted a commission of my own character, I just read you don't do that. I can see how knowing the character makes a better piece though. I going off to cry in my pillow.

JB-  Dunno if this has been asked before, but what would your dream commission be if you were the buyer?  (Assuming of course that your chosen artist would be alive and willing to do commission work)
