John - you are killing all of us with these incredible commissions!!!  Please DO NOT STOP! 8-)  Simply beautiful.

And, I second Wayne again, I am going to have to get me another one of these.  Best...

He's missing a few wires in his rusty innards.  I love those life-size models Lucas puts out.  Wish I could get a Stormtrooper for my entryway.

JB - Where are you going to put C-3PO in your studio? Have you picked out a spot?

that commission piece is based on the first X-Men comic i ever saw by John so the significance of the image means alot to me. the recipient has one awesome piece of artwork headed his way. hey john, you're missing out on the whole convention sketch book market. package about 30 of these bad boys together in a nice little black and white oversized booklet and i guarantee they will afford you a matching R2-D2 and Boba Fett! just give them to Art to sell at his table, the same people that purchase his sketch books will totally dig on yours. just my crazy notion, maybe you'd already thought about it, i just know theres
alot of people including myself that would like to have a nice hard copy reproduction of these commission pieces.

Snag is, Dusty, if I start selling these things for anything other than "private use" I run afoul of all sorts of copyright considerations. And, if I lisenced the use from ^^***** or DC, their piece of the pie would leave me with very little profit after printing costs.

Would JB even see any money?  The work was done for private use by a private owner.  If the owner gives Marvel permission to use it, does JB see residuals on any $ that is made?  If it isn't (and I'm not asking...none of my business) in the commission agreement that JB sees a residual for any future use, I'd rather not see it done.  Seems like he's been f#cked over enough by them.

Sorry, JB, I did catch that, but I made a bad attempt at a movie reference.  I'm sure C-3PO will be happy to get away from that awful wallpaper/mural/print in the background.
