Man-o-man that is awesome.  I'm now saving my hard-earned, cold cash so I can buy one of these.   Heck maybe I'll save up enough to get a room-full of these.

Beautiful work, JB.

Geez, I'm glad business is picking up for me.  If taxes don't punch me in the gut too hard, I should be sending Jim Warden a string of emails in the next month or so.  These are incredible, JB.  Thanks to you and the folks who are ordering the commissions for sharing.

Like everyone else I have been blown away by these recent commissions.  Unlike a page of original art providing a segment of a story these commissions through the skills of the artist seem to imply if not all then most of the stories they represent.  Great storytelling.

The X-Men one in particular led to me pulling out the old issues again for a read.  When you look below the sheen of the Austin inks the difference in the art between then and now is striking.  JB the artist sure has come along way, although to be fair to the younger JB, he certainly had his storytelling skills pretty much mastered.

I can't help but wonder  whether those that consider the old stuff better are not in fact confusing the level of skill in the art with what is really a change in approach on the part of the artist in how the work is actually presented.

As an older fan who bought most of these books off the shelf looking at the commissions certainly fills my head with many memories and associated emotions,  I can only imagine what is going through JB's head while he is drawing them, clearly though he is having a lot of fun.

One last obversation, I know it is down to the individual but... nobody inks your work like you do.  Nobody.

You're killing me. These are amazing. How cool is it to make a living drawing characters we all love and doing it better than anyone else.

You are definitely on roll lately. It's like the image just pour off your pen.

Oh -- and in case any of you are wondering why
there's been a sudden flurry of commissions -- I'm
buying this guy (once he's finished being "detailed").

Great work again John.  Question, I'm a huge fan of your pencils, sans inks.  Do they hold up well over the long haul <I would think they would hold up better than the inks>?
