It appears that this massive accomplishment, ELSEWHEN, will be
“discovered” by the vast majority of its audience long after the fact in
some manner that we just can’t predict.

That’s my take, anyway.

This is just too unusual to remain obscure. It’s like George Lucas made
a new Star Wars sequel with the original cast which most people didn’t
know about. Sooner or later it is going to be big news.

I envy the fan who stumbles across them.  What a treasure chest!  Someday they'll be collected and published.

It's a subject of morose fascination, to me, that ELSEWHEN has remained largely undiscovered.

A lot, I realize, is due to the "evil reputation" of this board, and due to those heroic Crusaders who refuse to "support" my work-- unless it's reprints of forty years old material. (Irony there: I get paid for the reprints, I don't get paid for ELSEWHEN.)

Forgive me sir, but I do very much like holding a book in my hands---especially one printed in a high-quality format.    Having all of Elsewhen bound in one volume, I know I would waste hours and hours in bliss---tempted to pick it up and flip through it nearly every day.

"In Darkest Suburbia" has one heck of a splash page in pages 2 and 3!
I appreciate seeing those 2 pages presented both as one connected page with no join lines as well as the expanded separate scans so that we can admire the artwork.

Still, those pages have nothing on the last page to my eye!  The Fantastic Four in all their glory!  Should I stop reading here?  I cannot imagine it can get any better than this!  (Just kidding.  Of course I cannot stop here.  It just keeps getting better and better so I still look forward with anticipation to whatever comes next.)  The Fantastic Four joining up with the Avengers and the X-Men against a common foe in a plotline worthy of the buildup!

Shooter's mandate that the last page should not serve as an ad for the next issue is proved wrong in this chapter (just as it was proved wrong with the introduction of Wolverine in The Incredible Hulk #180).

Elaine seemed almost more upset about the destruction of her home than she was about Jean's tragedy.  Of course, it was a very genuine reaction by a civilian in a superhero universe in which suburban renewal by combat is commonplace.

"T'phrase a coin..."  I love the playful turn of phrase that tipped us off as to the coming reveal on the last page of this chapter!  I do not remember Ben Grimm engaging in many malapropisms, yet this is so true to his personality.  Ben is no fool so I read this as a deliberate turn of phrase on his part rather than an accident.  Until the Thing says that the Juggernauts are "Built like a s--t brickhouse", Make Mine X-Men Elsewhen!
