That thread about going back to Marvel created an itch I needed to scratch. I asked myself if I could still pencil for someone else to ink. This was the result.

No significance other than scratching that itch. Not for sale, so don't bug Jim!

(NOTE: Since this turned into more than a couple of pages of "practice", I created a thread with all the "finished" art in sequential order. It can be found HERE.)

I think you have your answer, JB. It's been a long wait for my Saturday morning fix. Thanks for sharing it here.

Uh....any Fantastic Four stuff rattling around that needs to be itched?

In terms of process, does the entire drawing start similar to Wolverine's right arm, and then you go from there / "fill things in"?

There’s a roughness to this that I love, very energetic feeling.

I could see Klaus Janson or even Bill Sienkewicz on this.  On the contrary, it would be interesting to see someone with a clean line ink it as well.

Edit: spell check turned Klaus into Kilauea!

I wonder what Mark Farmer would do with this.

I think Tom Palmer's inks would be fun to see!

[edited to add the "be" that was missing]

Well, I hope the answer to yourself was yes.

The few examples I've seen of current comic art seems to use the colorist
more and more for shading. I prefer inks for my comic book enjoyment.

Wallace, I love both of the choices! Farmer would be perfect.

That's great. So many of the above names could finish this piece beautifully.

Cyclops' size and position really help sell the altitude!

Much appreciation for sharing John!

That looks wonderful to me and I am sure to everyone else here.

I hope you felt it successful also.

(Personally, I really dig how the distance between objects are really clear. The distance between the far away stream and the plane that Cyclops is on & the distance between Scott and Wolverine.)
