If the paper is archival quality, then I'm happy with mine. If it is newsprint
and subject to degradation over time, then I am not happy. I want these
works to survive our generation because I fear that comic books are going
the way of the dinosaur.

I can't say that it will degrade, but I can say that the pages are easily torn,
unlike those in the DC Archives.

Comics may disappear, but a hundred years from now, there's going to be someone who will be willing to pay to see Kirby's stories, and someone who will provide it for a price.

It might be digital, it might be inserted directly into your brain, it might come in the form of a pill.  But it will be available for a price.

But what if they've never heard of Kirby or actually seen a comic book? I
want to make sure that they do.

After I ordered the book, but before I got it from Amazon, I was starting to worry about the paper as well.  But when I got the book, I loved it.  The pages look fantastic.  I love the non-shiny paper and the redone colors.    I actually sold off all my old, tattered Fourth World comics in anticipation of getting these hardcovers, and I'm glad I did.  It's one of those rare books that as soon as I finished reading it, I wanted to go back and read it again.

I'd love to see a John Byrne Fourth World Omnibus and a Walt Simonson Orion Omnibus in the same format.

It appears volume 1 snips Miracle after issue 3. So it continues in the next volume. A bit funky for me, but I may still need to get these once all volumes are released and I can get them for an affordable price.

"Magpies"!

Ha ha!
