Didn’t you also ink a couple of pages in that X-MEN Annual he drew?

Other than a last minute miraculous medicine, my hope is that this amazing artist and man understands how much happiness he has brought to his fans.

If you read George's Facebook page you will see the posts and messages he has received to his recents posts, and the support, thanks and love is astounding.

I'm deeply saddened by this news. George's work has brought me much joy over the years, and (as many others have pointed out) he's also one of the nicest guys in the comics business, or any other.
I hope that he is comfortable and fulfilled in whatever time is left to him.

JB, thanks for that first Pérez/Byrne "collaboration" link.
I was always hopeful you both would collaborate for that X-MEN/TEEN TITANS team-up that happened at the height of their 80's popularities.
Still, I was glad you both teamed-up later on Action Comics #600 featuring your Superman and Pérez's Wonder Woman battling Darkseid... beautiful, action-packed pages!
-C!

I'm saddened.
I truly could not pass up a comic he was involved in if I seen it on the spinner rack.
