Speaking of conservation: After two summers in this house I decided to leave the pool closed. Thirteen years later, it still is. Just no use for it.*

The third years, tho, I received a rebate from the electric company, congratulating me on how much energy I had saved from the previous year. Took me a moment to realize that was all the power used to heat the pool.

______________

* Nine months out of the year I dump liquid chlorine into it, to keep it from turning into the Black Lagoon.

Have you considered turning it into a saltwater pool JB?

So it would be a saltwater pool I’d get no use out of?

But that's where you could stock your piranha collection! Endless hours of fun!

I think that would be the living definition of an “attractive nuisance”.

Isn't Trump suggesting moats as a way of protecting our boarders? Wouldn't
that be the equivalent of thousands of swimming pools worth of water?

I thought a saltwater pool would require less maintenance (in terms of chlorine and the associated smell) is all.

But yes, that gives me a good idea courtesy of the brilliant Donald J Trump - you could use your saltwater pool as a place to keep Crocodiles for home defence purposes. Or at least until you build that 50' high wall with the solar panels on top of it around your place. Least you can do to protect yourself JB, since you obviously aren't interested in exercising your God-given right to own guns.

Seriously though, Trump seems like that annoying person you get in every meeting... you know, the "ideas guy" who always says "I'm great with ideas but not much on details, we can work those out later".

JB: An advantage to living alone in a house formerly occupied by a family of five is that my water consumption footprint is only a fraction of what theirs was.

I think about that, too — my wife and I live in a house that has 4 bedrooms... there’s 2 of us In this joint. Whatever we do, it’s below the anticipation.

••

I mentioned the size of my house--11 rooms--to a friend, and she immediately responded "Greedy!"

Greedy? How is it greedy? It's not like I'm taking rooms from other people!!
