I just read William Taylor's opening statement to the congressional hearings. As far as I can tell this guy is exactly the type of person the US needs in the world putting "America first" and the current administration is making certain that him and people like him will not want to serve their country. His recounting of the events regarding Ukraine during the last six months is shocking.

30 Republicans invaded closed door testimony at the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility, where electronics such as cell phones are forbidden for obvious reasons. Some of the 30 idiots had phones and started live tweeting. Impeachment investigators were deposing witnesses there, as a result of the 30 clowns storming the hearing, they've had to delay it.

Having worked in one for several years, my lip twitches whenever the news reports about a SCIF. The SCIF. SCIF'ed premisies. SCIF facilities People acting SCIF-ly.
If the world of Classified Information had it's own version of 'ATM Machine' or PIN Numbers', this would be it.

Republicans obstructing justice?? Trump taught them well. Intimidate Pentagon employee Laura Cooper (and other witnesses) like mobsters.

Seriously, where's the Capitol Police when you need them??

Jeez...can you imagine what the GOP would do if they DID have something to fear from the inquiries?

I'd swear there's such a crime as contempt of Congress. If this doesn't get those lackwits arrested, what the fuck will? A duel to the death on the floor of the Senate or House?

Of course, had the Democrats done this to the GOP, the screaming would be heard into orbit, and righteous indignation would outshine the harvest moon.

By storming a SCIF - breaking the law and placing national security at risk by bringing in cell phones - the GOP led by Matt Gaetz have shown themselves unfit for Congress. Every one of those idiots knew that the inquiry was 100% legitimate, yet they still pulled a juvenile stunt like this.

That the rest of the GOP do NOTHING shows they have lost all credibility to govern. They are following Trump down a dark, bad place.

EDIT - just read this... “There was never any threat of arrest, but a source said some members asked to be arrested, citing the optics of being marched out of the SCIF in handcuffs in front of throngs of reporters and news cameras.”

Not sure I believe this, but wouldn't be surprised.

Trump said they’ve started building the wall in Colorado. Even a 3rd grader knows Colorado doesn’t border Mexico. Every day is just another example of just how absolute his stupid is.

I can't imagine at this point how anyone could take a thing Trumpo says seriously if they even bothered to listen or read, and underlings and Republicans parroting him are showing how brainless they are as well... ooh, I might be called "human scum"... gee, I better do whatever the successful business entertainment guy says, after all, he had minus two million behind him. Yeah, not good at maths either. Enjoy all these levels of fubar, and renewed interest in terms like disloyalty, civil war and lynching. You say banana, I say banana?

The past thee years have confirmed just about what everyone knew in 2016: Trump is a scumbag and would make a scumbag president. America is still going to vote for him in 2020. Because instead of coming up with a vision of the future that most Americans can embrace, Democrats are still obsessed with proving Trump is a scumbag.

It is incredible that in both America & the U.K. the oppositions have failed to make dents in the most inept governments ever.
In the U.K., Labour seem obsessed by creating policies that no one in their right minds would back - renationalising the water & energy industries citing lack of investment for example. Anyone with half a brain can see the amount of investment those industries have carried out.

In the US, the Democrats are rightly attacking Trump, but what policies are they putting forward? They need to get that message out there better.
