The FF did go up against Ultron in one of the post-JB issues (early 300s). Reed bought a "TURINO XL" desktop computer that morphed into ULTRON XI (anagrams... gotta love 'em). They defeated him rather handily, if I recall correctly.

To Doug Centers,

Daredevil vs Doctor Octopus was something I saw done pretty well when I was a kid...by some new guy that had taken over Daredevil's book.  Frank...something,

Crap, you're right Laren. And I had that one!

What do they say  "the memory is the first thing to go".

Notes of no importance whatsoever....

Iron Man faced off against Magneto in West Coast Avengers (possibly by our own delightful host...)

Cap and Taskmaster faced off in Tasky's debut in the Avengers at the Selbe Institute. Obviously, there were a few other characters involved...

WRT the FF - there weren't too many Legion- I mean, Imperial Guard stories where they all fought. It might only have been at the M'Krann crystal. Of course, if you want the whole guard, the FF has some reserves to call on too... let's start with Namor, Namorita, She-Hulk, and Power Man. :) I wonder if those four could handle Gladiator?

Count Nefaria actually battled the X-Men first as I recall - but certainly they encountered each other.

There are a lot of fun and good suggestions here.

Thor vs. Gladiator.  I never realized how much I need to see this drawn by John Byrne.

Has it happened?

To answer your question David, Thor vs. Gladiator has happened a couple of times. (But sadly not by our host.) The one done by Walt Simonson in his Fantastic Four run was the best. Not surprisingly.

Also Robbie, The Thing did (very) briefly battle the Abomination in a Secret Wars 2 crossover. But it probably doesn't count. As Ben had had his strength amplified by Mephisto and so made handy work of the Abomination.
And as much fun as a Thor vs an Adamantium armed Doc Ock sounds, Octavius would have to get in there quickly. Daredevil beat the same Doc Ock by getting him electrocuted through one of his arms. So you can only imagine what Thor's lightning would do!

Mr Scott, that's cool to know. Do you know the issue? Google images not helping. I want to see that, strength amplified or not! :)

MAN-THING VS. NIGHTMARE
Whosoever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch. Nightmare knows fear inside and out.

DAREDEVIL VS. DREAM-WEAVER
There are no secrets kept when you're asleep, and his enhanced senses aren't going to do him much good in a world of dreams.

IRON MAN VS. KARNILLA, THE WITCH QUEEN
They say iron is proof against witchcraft. Tony is about to find out.

THE HULK VS. THE AMERIDROID & X-SENTINELS
Why is everyone bigger than Hulk??

Great concept. Very much thinking of an "irresistible force meeting an immovable object" scenario here!

The Sub-Mariner vs Blastaar- Imperius Rex!

Namorita vs Doctor Octopus - There's just something about Namor's cousin I like, so I'd be rooting for her to kick Doc Ock's hind parts...

Wonder Man vs Super-Skrull - I'm not a fan of Simple Simon, so if he loses... *shrug*

Puck vs the Punisher - 'Nuff said?

Thor vs. Doctor Doom - When Von Doom tries to invade Asgard, he faces the wrath of the original MC Hammer.

She-Hulk vs. Abomination - Lets see how Jen does against one of Bruce's strongest enemies.

Wolverine and Bullseye vs. Ultron - Battle of Adamantium. And lets face it, no way Bullseye would team with Ultron.....

Iron Fist vs. Bullseye - Just because.

Cable vs. Kang - Obvious matchup is obvious. (Substitute Bishop if Cable and Kang have already thrown down.)

(I had Iron Man vs. Juggernaut in here, but I believe that's already happened.....)
