Yes, the Seattle library system has Golden Age reprints... in fact, they have the very books being discussed in this thread, Wonder Woman Chronicles, as well as the Superman and Batman Chronicles. Are children checking them out? Aside from my daughter I can't say for certain. But in all the local branch libraries I've visited they are shelved in the young adult section right next to the manga, so I think it's reasonable to speculate that at least some other kids or parents might pick them up.••• Next time you take out one of those books, check to see how many times it's been borrowed before, and over what length of time. Otherwise, your "speculation" is more like wishful thinking.

This is the thing about context! In those days, the average person was little more than a slave themselves, plus where were the slaves being supplied from? Rival African tribes. If we deny the past,we`re doomed to repeat it.Over here there was recently a case where travellers/gypsies were jailed for using/imprisoning people as slaves for years.Better to be honest and say these things happened, but were wrong.

And you know how you say they were wrong? By removing them from places of honor.

I was looking at purchasing a new edition of the "complete" Tintin but something caught my eye before I purchased it. They advertised the complete Tintin collection, all 23 volumes. I happened to know that there were 24 volumes. Some digging around discovered that they left out "Tintin in the Congo" and were pretending that it had never existed. I didn't buy the set.
Even the DVD set of the first season of "Sesame Street" came with a disclaimer. It's getting silly.

Regarding Matt H.’s point, this is what they currently have at my Costco. There were several stacks earlier in the month, and they are down to one or two Wonder Woman volumes, probably because of the movie. This Costco is located in a suburb where I shop for collector stuff, because it’s less competitive there. It’s all families and old people. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up being given to kids with undiscerning parents. Regardless, someone is buying these up.

I'm heading to the library now so I will ask those question ++++++++ According to the librarian she said the books are checked out regularly, that who checks them out seems random, 1 week a child, the next week a teen, the next week someone 60+

Are there no records in the books? No more cards in the back?

They don’t do cards at our library anymore. They’re all barcoded and scanned when they’re checked out.
