JB: "One Man One Vote is the only system that should ever be considered"
I agree with the sentiment and the democratic process. But part of me keeps saying that that process means the the voters include those who don't read - I mean ANYTHING. They believe only what the see on their favorite news channel, and I don't know if there is a single unbiased news program out there.
And there are those Americans who are DESPERATE for royalty again. They do not want to be involved in determining their civic leaders; they do not care to indulge in matters of public interest; they want someone to handle things for them, so long as they keep their jobs and homes and food on the table, and get to get rid of those others who want to take everything away from them.
These are obviously matters that could be countered by basic education. I just fear that most Americans would vote for bread and circuses without the least idea of how their nation, state, city is being run.
And yet, in the end, I'm not sure that there's any better system than One Man, One Vote. And yes, please be sure that by "Man", I include women. I'd say "of course", but it may not feel natural to too many people either.
