What if there are tapes? Would he be afraid of what's on them?

He'll just claim it's locker room talk in the Oval Office.

Mike Pence is no gem. He's an ideologue. He's a guy that will appear better than Trump simply because he's in the shadows, doesn't wear his opinions on his sleeve (at least not as much as Trump) and, more importantly, is not Trump. But he's every bit as dangerous and, I dare say, more so than Trump because he can get things done given the highest position in the land. |

Exactly. If I was on a bus and I knew the driver's goal was to drive the bus over a cliff, I'd rather have an inexperienced and incompetent driver, because there's a greater chance he will screw up somehow and fail to make it over the cliff.

Actually, it's 33 Senate seats up for re-election in 2018. Unfortunately, 25 of those Senate seats are already held by Democrats (or independents who caucus with them). Only 8 are Republican-held. Which means it's going to be an uphill climb for Democrats to retake the Senate even given the traditional anti-incumbent feelings at midterms.
As to the House, gerrymandering has created a great many ultra-safe seats for Republicans, to the point where it's quite unlikely the Democrats can retake the House until after the next census.

What the fuck would Trump have to gain by getting rid of the head of the census bureau?

If the Census Bureau is headed by one of Trump's cronies, then the census - and redistricting due to population - could be affected. Which menas Gerrymandering remains untouched, and unassailable Republican districts will stay so. Or so I gather.

All I know is this:
If the light-skinned black man who was living in the White House last year had did this, the Republicans, the Klan, Neo-Nazis, FOX News, and all other right-wing organizations would be marching to have him lynched right now!!!!!
There is nothing anyone can say otherwise.........

He never would have. Despite being fairly new to politics, he proved himself capable of restraint, spent time educations himself about situations and process, etc.

My crystal ball tells me by the end of the year, the White House and the heads of federal agencies will be mostly staffed by former contestants of The Apprentice.

So after White House National Secutiry Avdisor H. R. McMaster called the Washington Post story false, Trump has followed it up this morning by tweeting he has an 'absolute right' as President to share the info with Russia...

And his allies may decide they have an absolute right to stop sharing highly classified info with him if he is going to put sources at risk.

I was a political science major, and for some reason, I just assumed that while the president has an expansive right to de-classify materials, there was a legal process involved, like signing a form or something. I didn't know it was a de facto kind of thing. Jesus that degree gets even more worthless.
