This is the strangest thing.
Both sides are talking about the unfairness of why they might lose,
rather than talking about winning.
Biden’ s side rightly point to your really weird electoral college system,
while Trump’s side is obviously obsessed with imaginary voter fraud &
trying to get legitimate votes thrown out.
I still think that any group/person that tries to disrupt voting in any way,
be that turning up @ polling stations to intimidate voters or disrupt
campaigning should be arrested on terrorist charges.

Over here, campaigning stops the nigh before and television is not even allowed to mention the election on the day itself presumably in case of perceived bias. It's weird that until 10 pm on election day you might not even realise it's the day. I see Trump is due on Fox and Friends this morning so I'm guessing the same guideline don't apply.....
What a nervous day(s) this is going to be. Are people going to follow all the latest news to look for clues or switching off from everything until it's all over?

It never occurred to me that since 1988, the GOP candidate has only won the popular vote once.
2004.
To me, this is a sign that the country is moving, albeit slowly, in a progressive direction.
If 45 somehow happens to win again, will it be due to the EC or will he have the votes

The final nationwide polling average was 51% Biden to 43% Trump. By contrast, the final polling average in 2016 was 45% Clinton 41% Trump. Historically, polls tend to be off by 3-4 points at most.... eg Clinton won the popular vote by 2% whereas the polling average predicted she'd win by 4%.
Which is to say that since Biden has an eight-point lead in the polling average, there's no conceivable way he's going to lose the popular vote, assuming all votes are counted. Even if Trump gets a significant amount of votes suppressed, it's still unlikely he could suppress enough to engineer an nine-point reversal of the polls.
This is why right-thinking people despise the Electoral College system so much. The election would be all but over if we had a popular vote.

Watching anxiously from Australia.
Wow. It`s a close election. Cripes. Not what I expected. I assumed, to Democrat voters, Trump was the most loathed President since Nixon. And also assumed, even before Covid-19, they would be on a mission to get a ballot and would vote him out, in an historic landslide. Nope. Doh.

This is going to be another long 4 years no matter who wins.
If Biden pulls off a "2 Minute Drive" to win, Trumpy will play the game he is famous for: Litigation
If Trump wins, it will be due to the EC. Again, there will be cries to abolish it.
This country is soooooooo far apart that we may never come together again.
Racism and Science deniers - Dumbasses
This all has me wondering who will be the next Trump in 2024 to further this stupidity?

Trump trying to run again would be an interesting situation. It would take a vote by the states, not Congress of SCOTUS, to overturn term limits. Specifically it would take 35 states agreeing.
So imagine (God forbid!) Trump trying to run for a third term, without a term limit override vote being done first. He gets the 270 delegates, but doesn't win at least 35 states.
What happens?
