Has anyone looked @ the cognitive test he took? He was on Fox last  night saying the last few questions were hard - he repeated this claim.

——-

To be fair to Trump, he said the last 5 questions were the tough ones. I assume he’s talking about the orientation questions that ask:
-Date
-Month
-Year
-Day
-Place
-City

With the quarantine, I frequently lose track of the Date and Day, so I might not ace it like he did. I am not a very stable genius like he.

I mean, honestly, he was asked to identify a lion, an
elephant and a camel.

I took the test a few hours ago and can still remember
the animals.

My wife was present when her mother, who does have
Alzheimers took a very similar test. That's what it was
designed for.

That the sitting president thinks the last five
questions are 'hard, really hard' should be sending
people running in fear of just what is his cognitive
ability really like.

Fox news is his friend, and even the guy interviewing
seemed to have trouble taking this test seriously.

The fact that Trump can't make it through some speeches without botching some words - some even simple ones - has had me wondering if there is something wrong neurologically with him for a while now. Seth Myers makes fun of it on his show, but I find it more worrying than funny.

Can anyone explain to me why wearing a mask is considered an infringement of rights? And then, without skipping.a beat, explain to me why being abducted by unidentified, unspeaking military Is not an infringement of rights? I’m sure there are people that believe one or the other, but who can reconcile both of those positions for me in the same human mind? It doesn’t seem possible. Also, where are all the Red Dawn gun enthusiasts that swore to defend the United States when the government over reaches with its power? I’ve heard for years that the 2nd Amendment protects the land from an oppressive government, but that seems like a false statement in light of what is happening in Oregon.

Neil L.: "They could easily make the party more palatable to the majority"

But could they? As Michael noted, Trump is the awful pinnacle to which they have been striving. Where can they go next? No president could be elected on Trump's platform, I think; all the Democrats need reply with is, "Look how well that worked last time. Keep Americans alive."

I think that the Republicans only saving grace is that the Democrats need almost as much rebuilding and rebranding as the Republicans do. Yes, right now, the Democrats are the lesser of two evils, and will continue to be so for a while - until THEY become unbearable, and America looks to the Republicans for surcease.

The tendency of both parties, I fear, is "Party before country" - but right now, the Democrats make it so easy, and they do seem to take consideration of the voting public more than the Republicans do. But will this be sustainable in 2024? Will we, heaven forbid, be subject to the Zero Year Curse again in the presidency? Will Biden have a good enough VP to make things happy?

The labels "conservative" and "liberal", or "Democrat" and "Republican" vary so much between individuals that it's hard to assign a commonly accepted meaning. Everyone still follows a tree of needs, safety and comfort. For me and my immediate family. For my neighbors and friends. For my community. For my city. For my region of the state. For my state. And the region of concern keeps growing. But it's REALLY hard to care for people in northeast Ohio, for example, when my street needs repairs and my mother-in-law can't get good health insurance, and Cleveland's regional services are pretty poor.

As for Trump and his asshole army - it's the same discussion as always. Trump doesn't leave office; his weekend warriors show up to defend him.* Then the National Guard shows up and that discussion is over. We saw that a couple of times during the Floyd protests. A militia has NO chance against the real army weapons and armor. God have mercy on the United States if a shot is fired from either side, because the military aren't going to wait for a casualty on their side if they're on full alert.

If Trump knows what's good for him, he'll shut up and go quietly. If he's smart, he'll go to a county with no extradition with the United States, but that's another matter altogether.

*And defile the Lincoln bedroom. Eww.

The thing is, someone is agreeing to carry out these
abductions - I'm pretty sure we all thought those would
not have been agreed to before we started to see that they
were.

I get that he won't be president and so they may say that
it would be different and not follow any orders he gives,
but what if they do?

**********

I’ve administered this test to many patients. Contrary to what he seems
to continue to insist, it’s not any kind of intelligence test. It’s a cognitive
test used to help determine whether or not the patient has dementia.

And kudos to Chris Wallace for calling him out on it.

Yes they are. Maybe not together, but Young wrote that one by himself
anyway.

Hmm. Maybe instead of one of the debates, that test should be applied to both candidates. I'd watch that!
