Another interesting (well, to me anyway) bit of history concerns Sonja's "chainmail bikin".

As originally drawn by Barry Smith, Sonja wore a full mail shirt, belted at the waist. When she next turned up, in a story illustrated by Esteban Maroto and Neal Adams, there was less of it, giving the impression her shirt had been largely shredded in battle. This "shredded shirt" evolved into the "bikini" design -- which makes absolutely no sense, but which the fans seem to like for some reason.

JB, you do seem to be at a new level lately.

Anything going on in your life that might account for this possible inspiration?

Now I wish someone with the $$$ would ask for a She-Hulk/Red Sonja commission. That would be a classic meeting!

This thread makes me wonder if we will see the MTU story mentioned above reprinted in "Essential Marvel Team Up" when it gets to the CC/JB run. I fear we won't see it, taking into account the rights issues...

All that flashing green and red... They could really stop traffic!

Maybe as a Christmas themed sketch...?

So, who does hold the © on Sonja these days?

*************

JB-

D.E. (Dynamic Entertainment?) is currently publishing the adventures of Ms. Sonja these days.  Maybe they'd be able to tell you.

They're currently doing a Spider-Man/Red Sonja mini, so seeing it in the Essential might be possible.
