Not to begrudge you an income, but if you were on
that book, I'd give up on Byrne comics entirely.

Trevor, I would be disappointed if you didn't!

To be fair, after seeing that New Avengers issue drawn by Howard Chaykin, I'm not really interested on seeing my favorite artists working with Brian Bendis. I don't like his writing at all.

On the other hand, if it was Dan Slott or Ed Brubaker...

There you go! But not necessarily in order they were in when I took them!

JB: Trevor, I would be disappointed if you didn't!

Cool.

If you called up Image and started a book there, though, I'd not only buy it but be thrilled.  Seriously.

EDIT:  Or anywhere else where you have total control of the book's contents.

...John Byrne, George Perez, Frank Miller, and Walt Simonson... the Buscemas, the Romitas, Layton, Colan...

Now that's an awesome group of creators!  Buuut... having so much incredible talent at one company these days would almost seem... unfair...

You know Thomas, I actually tried to sit down and make something of all that, but I'm just not that...what's the word...right...ambitious.  I know when I'm beat, you can keep them.  This time!

The way that was worded was so misleading. "Can neither confirm nor deny" my ass. Why didn't the interviewer contact JB to squish that rumor right away? Why the hell couldn't JQ deny or clarify? Spinning to build enthusiasm is one thing, but this is just out and out misleading.

Would I love to see.....

.... Byrne on Fantastic Four?
.... Perez and Englehart on Avengers?
.... Simonson on Thor?
.... Stern and Byrne on Captain America?
.... Michelinie and Layton on Iron Man?
.... Miller on Daredevil?
.... Anybody else on Spider-Man?

Certainly.

But none of this is going to happen under the current editor-in-chief.

Thank God for Essentials and trade paperbacks.

Yeah, I agree. But always able to be revisited by a reread...
