I think it's safe for me to say : we all want the real Frank Miller back.

Joe, time machines don't exist, so we are stuck with what we have now.

Pretty unfortunate. Looks bad on everybody. I'm sure Frank Miller thought all was well in hand and this wouldn't go down this way. He was hired to do a job and he did it, perhaps the way he was ASKED to do it. At the very least, if it WAS his idea, I wonder if editorial went to sleep or what?
I guess they'll start using the printer's proofs now...why they stopped that is anyone's guess. I've never heard of any major entertainment company not doing a colour check, nor a prelim output to check quality before wide release.
Ah, comics.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miller is writing this title as a sort of satire of his own work or the perceived qualities of his work imitated by others. |

This is exactly how I see ASB. Miller's toy series, where he is doing a parody of his Batman and his other works, without ties with the rest of the DC Universe and the other Batman titles. I see the series this way, and I love it. Anyway, the use of certain words has always made me feel uncomfortable with those comics where they were used. When I first read s*it or similars, I thought "these comics are for grown ups." And this is NOT what should happen when you're a child who wants to read superheroes.

Check Spawn/Batman if you doubt it.

If my retailer is to be believed, and I do know that guys like Geoff Johns and Jeph Loeb shop there, Jim Lee is less than enthused by the scripts he's gotten from Miller.

How sad that something like this happens. I must be one of the signs that we are getting to the breaking point, and maybe there's no return....

Miller should be ashamed. If you don't want to write the character correctly, don't write it at all.

This slippery slope started several issues ago:
What are you, dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman.
If Frank Miller wants to do a Batman parody series, it should be done with a character like Flyingfoxman or Fledermausman or something. Everything I have heard about All-Star Batman and Robin depresses me.
