I like Batman's response: "They don't usually get the chance."

***

Think that thru, Matt. With that response, Batman is admitting that he looks "ridiculous" in the "getup".

As a stand alone scene, maybe this would be no problem. As yet another iteration of what amounts to a theme in Morrison's work... Bored now.

Yeah, I hate that panel.  Says everything about how I view Morrison's work, so that's why I'm incredibly surprised that I'm liking two titles he's currently working on; ALL-STAR SUPERMAN and BATMAN, although I'll have to give it some more time before I say I love his run on the latter.  Only two issues have come out so far...kinda hard to tell.

The X-Men panel bothers me even more. Makes it sound like Wolverine's been wearing a costume only because Xavier told him to. And that's not only out of character, but historically incorrect as well.

Well, you know, wearing those leather outfits in public doesn't get them strange glances at all. Er...

This just in from ESPN -- New York Yankess demand to know why they are being forced to dress as baseball players. A management spokesman said today "This is almost certainly the team's response to the members of Ladder 51 asking why they have to dress as firemen."

Costumes are stupid! With jackets, the X-Men were realistic!

Whoops. Francesco Bizarro escaped from the Phantom Zone again.
I'll catch him.

I've read some Morrison that I've liked, but it often has a sense of it's own ridiculousness that I haven't found amusing.  I think the current decline and fall of the X-Men started with his run.  The book is a mess in need of a serious reboot that will never happen.

I do NOT share Dan DiDio's vision...

----------

I'm not sure if I do either!

It's just bizarre to see the reasons to kill off certain characters, and bring
back others. It's like DC is getting it right in these litte bits, but then
getting it so wrong in all the rest.

the other thing that bugs me are these "legacy" characters. I wish that term would go away, along with the people who think we need a new Flash, Blue Beetle, Green Lantern, etc.
