The original Man vs. Food series, with Adam Richman, did an episode here that was a bit misleading. He went to a restaurant here I'd never heard of (and which has since closed; think they closed around a year after the episode aired) and had something called a `Pig Burger', which they talked about as a local delicacy that was famous. It was basically a burger made out of ground pork with a slice of raw onion, on white bread. I'd never heard of it before, and have never had one. The food from here that actually is famous? Petro's, which is basically a Frito pie in a bowl. It debuted here at the 1982 World's Fair, and I had one for lunch last week.
Incidentally, I like shrimp, and I like grits, but I've never in my life had shrimp and grits, which is a southern thing. I only eat grits for breakfast, on occasion.
