What a wonderful build of of tension and (apparent) release. The inbound in the X-ship really had an anxiety level reminiscent of the fateful UXM 100/101 shuttle flight with Jean at the controls. The super-saturated imagery is prefect for conveying the wild danger of space and wormholes.

I was on holiday and am just catching up: Is there an implication that the IG were vaporized?

Love how we know Mr. Byrne will make things pure hell for our heroes but will always find a way to get them out of it in the end.  Not always in 100% shape, but it will be a fun ride.  Like a good roller coaster.  Well, except for poor Logan with his burned out brain and floppy hands which I suspect we'll get an update on soon, whenever it works for the story.

Kitty continues to act like an impulsive kid... And that's a good thing for us!

I'm also digging the way Storm flies into the house.

Love the details in the last panel -- which I'm guessing might have been laid out very differently if Ororo still had her former look -- her cape might have obscured the view!

It's amazing how quickly a dwelling can deteriorate. I know it has been years in this instance, but you can start to see signs after just months.

Houses want to be homes. They want to be lived in by someone.

When I first moved to Fairfield there was a beautiful 1840s vintage hotel a couple of blocks down the road from my house. It was abandoned, apparently due to some dispute between the owner and the town. He’d decided to let it simple fall apart. Over the next ten years it did just that. Very sad to see.

The X-Mansion, here, has not been derelict that long, but watching that hotel collapse in slow motion informed my drawings.
