Has something of the air of inevitability about it. It is sad, but what is Marvel these days? All its value is in IP, as far as Disney is concerned.

I've been puzzled that Disney has comics featuring their cartoon characters published by Fantagraphics, not the comic book publishing company that they actually own.

They're coming here? There goes the neighborhood!
Just kidding - this moves makes sense to me.
For those Marvel employess coming to Los Angeles, I think it's a wonderful city to work and live in. And Burbank is awesome - I used to live in the valley, but moved to the basin about 12 years ago to be closer to work.
I still miss the valley - it was home for many years. I had a lunch last Saturday in Toluca Lake, so I made a day of it and visited my old haunts. My favorite bookstore is a used shop called The Iliad, and it's still the best browsing experience in town. Great graphic novels and film/TV books. Couches for reading, cats for petting. Or in my case, sneezing, as I am allergic.
Newbies will find one of the best comic shops in the area right down the street from Disney. It's called House of Secrets on Olive Ave, and they have an amazing selection. It looks like one big room at first glance, but find those small little alcove-type rooms towards the back for some great surprises.
And they had four copies of JB's X-Men: Elsewhen, but who's counting? (besides me)
So welcome to town, Marvel Zombies! I only ask that if you drive slow, please stay in the right lane on the freeway. Seriously. Please.

Makes me sad on all kinds of levels. Probably should have happened years ago, but Marvel is so NEW YORK.

"End of an era" doesn't even begin to describe this. Perhaps inevitable, but still incredibly sad to think about.

I am actually feeling a bit teary-eyed. My whole career at Marvel was Manhattan based.

We took a tour of the Marvel offices, I want to say in the late 90s. I was probably 12 or so. I think my dad couldn't stop smiling for a week straight.
God, this whole thing is weird. And sad.

It sure feels wrong. When I was a little kid from the midwest and knowing that Marvel was in New York had added a little dash of mystique to it all. It's just something I never thought would ever happen.
