the haze from the Canadian fires is giving the skies over New Hampshire a very eerie look….and a red sun!

The title of this thread brings up something that's been on my mind for the past year or so. The SUPERMAN and SUPERGIRL films depict their title characters as immediately losing or gaining their powers upon exposure to a red or yellow sun, respectively. Almost like flicking a switch.
What do my fellow JBFers think about this? As opposed to the powers draining away slowly and taking time to build up again.

Sounds more like the effects of green kryptonite.

Kryptonite radiation would cause a Kryptonian to lose their powers at a much faster rate than being exposed to a red sun.
Come to think of it, kryptonite radiation does not cause them to lose their powers, it weakens them. Once it's out of range, they return to normal strength.
(....please no red, blue, gold, yellow kryptonite comparisons.....)

Back to the topic…Minneapolis, where I currently live, was the 2nd worst air quality of the entire planet for a day just behind Detroit. Chicago went above the readings of air quality in that same time. Lasted for only a day, but it was bad. 27 years in LA, with all the fires, and it never got that bad where I lived.
