1. Batman - mainly because of Poison Ivy
2. Alpha Flight - the great beasts, Pink Pearl, Gilded Lily, Omega Flight all so much fun
3. X-Men - of course
4. New Teen Titans - Brotherhood of Evil, Brother Blood, Cheshire
5. Spider-Man - too many to cite

The more colorful and over-the-top, the better.  Too much brooding villain gets dull.  I want comics, not "Hamlet". I love Shakespeare but everything in its place.

The FF, and Spider-Man, no doubt. Superman ends up third, particularly thanks to a mid-career infusion of Fourth World characters. Love the LSH roster, but given all the retcons I couldn't say what they are, now. I guess fifth would by default be Batman, who empirically has the most famous gallery but I'm also kinda Batmanned out, so it's difficult to care about yet again one more appearance by the Joker.

Oddly, Cerebus the Aardvark came to mind, because Sim's parodic use of The Cockroach, Lord Julius, Elrod, Astoria, Henrot-Gutch, and more made me really cheer anytime one of them came back to cause mischief.
