Thanks to the miracle that is Ozempic, I am below 200 pounds for the first time since my 20s.-------------------------- Definitely a positive with having diabetes! The advancement of medicine is pretty amazing. If it wasn't for Imitrex, I would be in bed mostly with migraines

'Not on your foot, I hope'
Haha - no ! A stone in weight ... thankfully, the bathroom scales started to recognise me as a single unit instead of a coach trip.
And - lazy is good - one of my best afternoons is doing nothing and then having a good ol' rest afterwards.

Phil, I am also 59 -- turn 60 mid-2026 -- I hope retirement is not too far away... Your pottering sounds great! Congrats
It is certainly to be recommended, Jonathan - pity that it comes that bit later in life ! And - as a number of my former colleagues also agree - I'm not quite sure how I ever found time to fit in a job ! Now I can fill my days with cooking, painting, twiddling a bit on the guitar, nodding off at random moments, wondering what day it is or if I can remember my own name ...

Enjoy, Phil!
At the moment, I'm working from 6.30am until 5pm without nary a break (electronics is a crazy business!). I still check on work stuff in the evening and at weekends too, which has hindered my side hustle as a writer.
The endgame is four years away, when I can retire comfortably at 60. I have a huge bookcase of omnibuses (omnibi?) waiting for me and a plan to get a four-legged friend then too (there's too much of a dog-shaped hole in my life at the mo!).
Counting the months...

Congrats on your retirement!
I was recently let go from my job of nearly 25 years and decided to just retire. I definitely feel blessed to be in a position to do so comfortably.

How did my fans get so old while I haven’t aged a day since I left X-Men?
