I'm more concerned of the risk of a one party state.

A third party of nothing but web bros. I can’t even begin to imagine what the platform will look like, but if Terry Crewes isn’t busy maybe he can get a seat on the Extreme Court.

The only 'advantage' (and I use that term loosely) with Elon backing a party is they would, theoretically, have financial ability to compete with the established parties for campaign ads and what not.

Money power vs political power. Perot found which wins the hard way. Musk will too.
Loss of contracts, loss of subsidies, loss of visa (does he have citizenship - I need to look that up). There are a lot of barriers the man in charge can put in place

I voted for Perot. He had no chance of winning, but he was the closest thing to “none of the above”.

He does, but Trump’s already threatening to deport him.

well, let's see how long this lasts first; Musk increasingly seems to be throwing ideas out and then changing course
And if it was some other Tech Bro, I'd think this might be an attempt to fracture both parties, pulling in the people who feel the Dems have left them behind and the multi-billionaire GOPs who don't want to be associated with the people at the lower end of the economy who prop up Trump (but who still follow Curtis Yarvin's idea of TechBros leading us all)
Let's see where this stands in a month or so
