The events of the day had me thinking about this story. About wanting to do what's ultimately best for the country. It took me more than forty years, but -- thank you, JB and Roger Stern, for crafting such an amazing tale.

That story was born when Rog was editor, and the previous team wanted to do a story where Cap ran for President AND WON. The next four years would be all about his term in office.

Aside from the fact that this would have forced a real time framework onto ALL the books, Rog felt it was too DC, emphasizing that Marvel comics did not really take place in our world.

Sort of the other end of the spectrum from the SS agents that would have to accompany Trumf to prison!
