This morning I happened to pick this one off the spinner rack in my Studio. No particular reason. Just a few years since I looked at it. This was a fun one to work on. When I saw JURASSIC PARK III, with that last shot of the flying reptiles coasting over the Pacific, I knew there was a potential for an old-style Universal “monsters in the desert” story. Didn’t expect I’d be the one to do it, tho! I borrowed the spine of the first issue from THEM! (which was not Universal) and built from there. A lot of 3D modeling for vehicles. For the pteranodons I picked up a JP “action figure.” At one point one of the characters tells how her husband was killed by a massive IED in Iraq. This was based on a true story, something that happened to the friend of a friend. Google came in very handy for Polar Bear reference at the end. All in all, a fun job, like I said, and for a licensed project, remarkably stress free.
