If Doom had been able to safely steal Terrax’s power, what would’ve been the first thing he would have done with it?

I think we saw that scenario when he stole the Surfer’s power.

Are the Surfer and Terrax roughly the same strength? I guess they are both former Heralds, but comparing them never occurred to me!

I am officially more scared of Terrax than I was five minutes ago.

Has the Surfer been done any justice since those days?
I recall it being said that the Surfer was like Lee and Kirby's Hamlet.

Richard, I'm not going to answer your question directly, but if you haven't read Fantastic Four 258-260, you need to find the time to do so. Not only will you get an answer to your question, but you'll also read one of my favorite stories from our host's run on that series!

I remember a comic where an angry Ben Grimm attacked the Silver Surfer, and he just took it. At the very end the Surfer displayed power that made Bashful Benjamin realize Galactus’ former herald could have walloped him at any time.

I think it was a Lee & Kirby tale, but can’t recall the issue number.

Joseph G – I have, but it's been a while. Time for a refresher course on the Power Cosmic.

Thinking back, I have to kind of feel sorry for Doom's mom. Her son has stolen the power cosmic, the Beyonder's (ugh) power, and controlled the whole world of super-powered people, yet her soul lingers in Hell.

Must be tough to be a fairly uninteresting subplot ;)

I thought that story was resolved in Stern's TRIUMPH AND TORMENT.
