JB, in your time at Marvel/DC, did you have to give editorial advance notice of what you intended to do with a title? Or did they just let you turn in whatever you were up to month by month?

A bit of both.

Fantastic Four #250! This was a bit of a dream come true for this 13-year-old -- my favorite artist/writer back to drawing my favorite mutants. After forty years, Mr. Byrne, I'm curious: what led you to having the X-Men appear in this issue, so close to having left the book? And have you considered asking Terry Austin to ink this issue?

Was this the first published issue of JB inking those X-Men?

Technically no, since I inked a page in the George Perez annual published during my tenure on the title.

I own a page from Wolverine #23. I pounced on it when it saw it up on Ebay because I do believe that it's the only published issue featuring Wolverine, in-story, in the Brown costume, and fully pencilled and inked by you.

My criteria was quite specific!
