That Angel figure is pretty sharp.

Nice. From a distance, that looks like an Alex Ross Storm.
I think I have that same particular Wolverine figure. From around 2003? Very poseable.

Very cool, Tony! It's so good I thought you swiped it from the net!
An iconic image - one of my favorites. I bought that issue off the spinner rack.

Thanks Tim. I collect action figures and I sometimes challenge myself to recreate some of my favorite panels from the past. I've always loved that two page spread. Plus, I think it was the first time we get to see Wolverine's new costume that JB created.

You are correct, it's the very first page where we see the new costume - even the issue's cover had it incorrectly colored like the old one.

Looking through my IDW John Byrne X-men Artifact (a beautiful book), you find JB wrote notes on the side for the colorist for Wolverine's new costume and Angel. It appears the colorist chose another route with Angel, however, it would have been cool to see him back in his blue costume again.

Argh - Angel looks SO much better in Dark Blue/Black.
And for Wolverine, "Dark Yellow"? I never knew that. I'll admit that I'm glad that the colorist (Glynis?) went with Tan, instead.
