Did anyone ever notice the coloring mistake on Ororo’s left arm in that last
panel? It’s only been 40 years, and I just saw it.

THAT’s how great JB is at drawing women who are just WALKING AWAY.

When they face the camera, I’m probably not even reading captions or word
balloons.

Thank you MArk.

That issue was pivotal in many way (good and bad).  It felt like we learned a lot about Logan in it too.

You're right.

We learned that Wolverine kept a photo of Jean in his belt and that maybe he felt the grief that Scott didn't.

He could sew.

The whole issue has a lot of great character moments. AND iconic X-Men visuals.

We learned a lot about Wolverine—but at the same time we didn’t.

This was a few years before targeting the speculators and basically sloppy/lazy writing that seemed to spring from everyone who came near the character feeling they had to “reveal” something.

It’s the kind of writing that would open a certain classic movie with the main character muttering “my sled”……

I was thinking about his relationship with animals (although perhaps that was in the next issue) --- I'm not sure why that always springs to mind.  It just seemed to round out his character a bit.

Unbreakable skeleton factoid too, IIRC.

It seemed the art was hitting new heights on that issue as well.

What a shame it was such a contentious (and jerky) moment of betrayal by Chris.  Just stupid and unnecessary.
