What’s coming along these days is a kind of fusion of my old time full pencils, and the fully rendered pages I produced for BLOOD AND TRENCHES.
* * *
And so, so good. I absolutely love the pencils. I would go through the galleries, and see how books looked before being inked/colored/lettered, and I have to say I preferred the pencil version most, if not all, of the time. A lot of nuance is lost when pages are inked.

JB: I’ll mention here that I have long ago stopped penciling ELSEWHEN with any thought to these pages ever being inked.

JB, what considerations go into that choice? I think it would be fascinating to get an idea of what sorts of things you do with pencils-only art when these pages won't be inked.

Can’t say it’s really a deliberate choice, Andrew. More something I’ve been noticing as my comfort zone in ELSEWHEN expands.

Speaking of pencil-work...try as I might I can't do Kirby-Krackle that looks a thing like yours. I get the whole white-space thing and all that...but you have a gift for it. You're still my artistic idol.

Fascinating to have Wolverine back in time like this….so many roads untraveled. Possibilities. Thanks, JB.

Not really, considering his memories have yet to be restored.

A word of caution: As we begin soon to venture into Logan’s past, I advise one and all not to read too deeply beyond what I present. It’s all pretty much a WYSIWYG situation.
