1) yes and no. There are aspects of my pencils that I think are much stronger than my inks, but for some reason I have trouble inking my own full pencils.

2) that would require mind reading!

I find it hard to believe that the whole world of comics in the US is not shattered by JB's little enterprise here (fans, pros, editors, CEOs ...)

Maybe I should count my blessings. Possibly Disney’s lawyers haven’t heard of it, either!!

Thank you! I am extremely impressed by your raw pencils and see how it could be very hard to tamper with that.

The reason I wondered about #2 was because Mr. Simonson did ink your work (above)...and, in the collected volumes of his Last God Standing, it includes many of his pencils next to the finished inks. It seems clear from those that he never intended them to be "finished" work, just layout, and that most the heavy lifting was done by him at the inking stage. From that, I inferred he enjoys inking but wondered if you actually knew, because you two seem to be friends*.

* I also asked you because you are the only professional artist I am in communication with in any way-shape-or-form (...and thank you for being so approachable!). :)

My sadistic nature is creeping to the fore.

As I have already hinted, an Alpha Flight appearance is waiting in the wings, and this has got me thinking about doing a whole installment as if it’s an issue of their book. Twenty pages of Alpha in their corresponding slice of the ELSEWHEN “universe”.

But here’s where the sadistic part kicks in: I would play it literally as an issue of ALPHA FLIGHT, coming into a story in progress, and salting the setting with subplots. Plus a cliffhanger ending that might never be resolved.

BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!

It's fun being you, isn't it?

And let me forward that thanks on the generosity: if it sometimes seems we take it for granted, we certainly don't.

I, for one, would love to see that issue of Alpha Flight!

I'm already hooked on this series, but little tidbits of information like that has me incredibly eager for future issues.

Oh, and, of course, I would have to drop this into the middle of something cataclysmic for the X-Men. The ultimate cut-away-from-the-drama moment.

JB: Plus a cliffhanger ending that might never be resolved.

This could be a whole lot of fun - unleash everyone from the "no speculating" rule for the final page of that one issue. Since the cliffhanger would never be resolved, there would be no harm in hearing how folks will think the story would unfold...

...as long as everyone remembers to keep their traps shut when the regular series resumes! I hate spoilers!

William, you make me think of every movie I've every seen in which a child actor is unleashed on a destructive rampage. Okay, I think, how did they deprogram him after the scene was done?
