In the Marvel Heroes Preview Special of '85, they mention that She-Hulk was originally intended to get her name changed in the limited series that would be turned into the Graphic Novel. Does anyone have any idea what it was supposed to be?

Very, very briefly a switch to “Bombshell” was considered.

Quite surprised that name's not been used by someone in the Big 2 or maybe it has and I missed it. Give it time I guess.

Might've been an issue of WHAT IF but I remember seeing the
name "Gammazon" for a character that may or may not have
been She-Hulk. I liked that.

There was a Bombshell in DC Comics. During One Year Later when they were handing out teen sidekicks and legacy versions like candy. Bombshell was a young woman who had similar powers and a similar appearance to Captain Atom.

Also a female Marvel villain who was introduced in the early 1980's and is/was a member of a team of evil jugglers (seriously!) called the Death-Throws. She throws hand grenades and other bombs. First fought Hawkeye.

I’m sorta shocked they didn’t use “Bombshell” for a female Abomination during the Hulk Family era. Maybe Marlo as the distaff counterpart to Rick Jones’ “A-Bomb”.

How far did the She-Hulk story get as a limited series before being changed to a GN?

No more than concept. Looking at the GN it’s easy to tell there was no sudden shift in pacing, as would have been forced if the miniseries was already started.

"She-Hulk" is one of those names (much like Mr. Fantastic) that really doesn't work for me. It's rather clunky on the ear. I like JB's solution of using their given names or having those close to them create nicknames for them (Stretch-o or Shulkie).

**edited to add that the more I think about it, it's really just Ben or Johnny I can "hear" using those nicknames. Doesn't seem in character for Sue to use them. Did any of the Avengers ever refer to Jen as Shulkie?

Jim, I think I probably read four or five issues of FANTASTIC FOUR before I heard anybody call Reed "Mr. Fantastic"

There are a few other names I always had a problem with - the Thinker/Mad Thinker and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (which I guess could have explained as being a name hung on them by the press).
