I'll admit, I'm no expert on either reference (and he's clearly been seen treading water before), but I thought he was always described as being quite heavy.

Maybe not. The "fastball special" argues to the contrary.

Sorry, I don't want to nit-pick the fantastic. I'm more than happy to go along for the ride.

I’ve read that Wolverine weighs 300 lbs. That’s not so heavy it would
keep him from being able to swim.

Sharp eyes among you may notice I've given you two pages today. That's because the splash is basically just a different angle on the last page of last issue, and it didn't seem fair to make you all wait a full day for new stuff.

Ain't I a softie?

Thanks for today's pages, JB. Both are phenomenal, and that second one is just off the charts amazing! From those ruby red beams of force hammering into Phoenix to the inset panel showing how Scott used his "devastating power to spare himself injury" to Wolverine's incredulous reaction to Xavier's direction that the X-Men get to cover, it all feels right!

And yes, I know there's no color on the page, but I still "see" the color of Cyclops' beam.

The fastball special? As when COLOSSUS picks him up and throws him? Colossus whose strength is rated at 70 tons?

THAT fastball special?

This raises something I've been pondering about the hair color of a certain young lady. Wondering if I need to add a grey tone to distinguish her from blonde.

2 pages of sheer perfection today! That panel of Phoenix getting hit by Scott's beam is mesmerizing. Is it tomorrow yet?

Man, what a shot of Cyclops in panel 3. Inks would ruin that drawing.

The (two!) pages today are gorgeous, and the transition to the "modern" from the flashback feels surprisingly different. I need time to drink them in...

Err...

Belaboring the point, let's comparing Wolverine to a baseball (0.3125 lb) and Colossus to a weight lifter (benches 500lb)

0.3125/500 * 70 * 2000 lb/ton = 87.5 lb (Wolvie as baseball)

or a shot put (16 lb)

16/500 * 70 * 2000 = 4480 lb (Wolverine as shot put)

Seems like Colossus would have absolutely no problem with throwing a 300 lb Wolverine slower than a baseball, but faster than a shot put. Marvel math checks out.

My bad.
