It arrived a day early (yesterday), and multiplied along
the way - Amazon delivered two! Near as I can figure
there was confusion due to ordering both this and MoS
Vol. 2 at the same time. My CC shows a charge for both
this and the MoS volume, but I had actually received MoS
around the first of February. At least Amazon makes
returning a double shipment pretty painless.

As I settle in to read the final issue of the final
series, I just have to say "WOW"! I'm so, so sorry I
missed this when it originally came out! And the art in
G3 - I'm not trying to trash 1 & 2 at all, but what a
leap!! While still obviously and identifiably JB, it's
almost like a completely different artist than the first
two series. This has been *such* a fun (if gut-
wrenching, at times) read - thanks a bunch, JB!

I’ve mentioned before that I tried something deliberately “different” with the inks on G3. Basically a thicker, firmer line. Glad you liked it.

A blessing in disguise, perhaps? Like those "lost" HONEYMOONERS episodes that were found a few decades back.

It's great that this has been published - I love the series, and I am more of a
Marvel reader than DC. It's definitely worth the read if you missed it when first
published.

I'm so glad that G3 has finally been collected - the first two series had
perfect/soft cover binding and look great on the shelf. The third series was
saddle stitch, and they have been on my shelf as well all these years,
screaming for a collection.

(yes, my books talk and sometimes even scream. It's been a long pandemic)

There is definitely something to be said for discovering
missed treasures further on down the road. Especially
in an all-in-one collection like this, to peruse at
one's leisure.

I got my copy!! I have the originals OF COURSE, but it has been many a year since I got comfy and sat back to read them all from beginning to end - so this is a bit of a blessing for people like me, too!!

Finally making my way through this series. I’ve read various things about
how good it was, along with odd outlier comments saying things about the
art.

Firstly, this first read through is in publication order, but I’ll be immediately
be doing a second read through in chronological order (@ least for 1 & 2 @
any rate). I’m currently in issue 2 of vol 3. & not yet figured out if this fits as
neatly into a Chronological run.

Secondly. The art is great. Definitely top notch Byrne art here

Thirdly. The story is really well done. I’m loving the progression between
time zones & the different versions we meet, coupled with the different
styles used in the storytelling to mirror the styles of each era.

This really has been a pleasure to finally read.
Now I need to sort out the Fourth World Series.

The chapters of G3 drop between those in 1 and 2, James. Just follow the dates.

Ok, great.
Thanks for that. I’d seen some post about different timelines, but I’ll ignore
those & just go straight from the writer’s mouth & enjoy it.

It became a thing for some people to claim they were “confused” by the time jumps between chapters. I might been sympathetic to these complaints had not the chapters had DATES in their titles.

Probably the same people who were annoyed that I didn’t identify Bruce Wayne’s wife. (Given the basic concept of GENERATIONS there’s only one person she could be—and she’s right there in the first story!)

A REVIEW of G1 from a couple of years ago. How many errors can you spot?

(A biggie: the writer claims having Bruce becoming Robin before he became Batman is a huge change.)
