Are those stars in the first panel? Is it supposed to be
night time?

I always liked the vibe of how the "new" X-men would kind flounder about, over-relying on their individual skills, and then Cyclops would show up late and start implementing intelligent and effective tactics.

This morning I found myself wrestling with a quandry. There was a certain story I wanted to do, back in the day. Even talked about it in a couple of interviews. But I didn’t get to it before I left, and now elements of it have been used in the recent, wretched DARK PHOENIX movie.

Question, then, is whether I should proceed with my story, or drop it and spare myself the hassle of being accused of stealing from the movie.

Hmph

Please don't let that crappy movie influence your decision. You have more of a right to do it than anyone. I'm sure there are some out there that might say something about it, but that's just in their nature.

Im pretty sure that your story would work way better than a lot of what wound up in that movie as your understanding of the characters is way better... Plus it would be hypocritical for the movie people to try to cry foul when they have been basing their stories on characters and plots you helped define in the first place! (Not saying they won’t try just that’d it be hypocritical)...

Mr. Byrne - I doubt that anyone HERE is going to accuse you of stealing from that horrid movie. To paraphrase "Quiz Show", that's sort of like plagiarizing a rotten film.

I'm certain that it will be well and warmly received here. And to any others... eh. What do they matter?

I doubt you'll find many (any?) on this board and off who'll admit to even having seen the movie so you're safe. :)

Yeah, haven't seen that movie, not that that makes any difference. I'd say it depends on how similar the idea is. If it is substantially similar, I'd lean toward not running with it; if it only sort of overlaps, however, I'd say go for it.

Very cool having Wolverine crawling on the floor, sniffing like an animal. Makes total sense and also makes him seem not entirely human.

And I like how the last panel shows just how fast Wolverine can move. Let's hope the bullets hit adamantium bone and not flesh.

I wouldn't be surprised if the DARK PHOENIX writers came
across your idea in their own research for the movie and
used it.
