I'm not sure about the "Red Rocker" Stephen, but I know Starman will be listening to Bowie's Major Tom on an infinite loop.

The shots made me think HEAVY METAL immediately, of course.
The Tesla's trajectory will miss Mars and put it into the asteroid belt. Assuming it doesn't hit anything (which is pretty likely--the asteroid belt is more sparsely populated than most of us think), it will keep going until it leaves the solar system for interstellar space.

When I saw the footage of the boosters landing near-simulaneously, I felt like a kid again. It looked like something out of a '50s sci-fi movie. I called my kids into the room and replayed the whole launch for them, twice!

Agree 100%, Byron. The two rockets landing bottom-down is so damned much like the science textbooks I had as a kid, the illustrations of which were probably based on those '50s B movies.

I can't get tired of watching the boosters land!  I expect that shot of the Starman with the earth in the background to be an iconic image for this decade.
