Really, though, JB - how does the kid who picked up FF #5 feel about having his name alongside Lee and Kirby on an FF book? That must be a total mind bender!

Brad, you have NO idea! It's indescribable!

(Sadly, my whole life has been a pattern of the gods giving with one hand, and taking with the other. So this staggering credit line had to be on a cover so grotesque I could not even bring myself to have it in the house!)

I see Johns name where it belongs, next to Lee and Kirby's.

And I'm sure it doesn't help that the team is wearing your version of their outfits on that cover, to boot!

It also looks like Reed has been pumping
iron with Hans and Frans... Nothing at
all like JB's version.

Did some research.
The book reprints "Divide--And Conquer!" (Originally printed in Fantastic Four Annual #5, 1967)
"Rip Wide The Sky" & "Risk" (Originally printed in Fantastic Four #289 & 290)
"The Long Journey Home" (Originally printed in Fantastic Four #100)
"Interlude" (Originally printed in Fantastic Four #258)
"Choices" And "When Titans Clash" (Originally printed in Fantastic Four #259 & #260)
The cover is by Vince Evans.

The cover is by Vince Evans.
Probably not the same guy....

The artist in question actually has some skill as a painter:
As I've seen many times with technically skilled painters though, movement, composition and fluidity are a struggle.  On a very high level, it's the difference between Frazetta and Boris.  Boris is every bit as proficient with the brush as Frazetta was,  but a lot is lost when it comes to bringing "life" to his paintings.

I'm unfamiliar with Evans other than a quick Google search (http://www.vinceevansart.com/)  but I'd bet that as good as he paints, he's learned that the gift of making a comic book character look natural isn't as easy as it might seem.

In general, I think most people don't truly understand and appreciate just how much goes into being a good/great comic book artist.
