Awesome!  Your Doom is amazing, JB.

Excellent idea for a commission - that's such an iconic page for us fans of JB's run on FANTASTIC FOUR.

Loved that issue of the F.F. The 2 pg splash is amazing . It makes you feel you are in Latveria. It should be a real country.

Awesome indeed!

Thanks for posting this JB! Always love to see you draw the good Doctor.
He`s probably my fave character to see you draw, actually. You have such a flair for rendering his costume. Both the metal and cloth parts!

Cheers!

JB, it is a funny detail to cite but I, too, have always appreciated and been influenced by how you draw belts.  Cyclops, Wolverine, the FF, Captain Marvel...it was always a detail that I dug and found "the right way to do it."

Re commission details...do you prefer the heavily-detailed customer requests such as this one, or the ones where the customer leaves the specifics up to you?

I know how much you love Kirby, JB but your FF run is my favorite.

Great commission.

This kinda falls in the same category as hats and helmets. So many artists -- even some good ones -- seem to have trouble drawing these things "realistically", ie as if there's ahead under the hat, or as if the belt is looping around an actual three dimensional form. I've devoted some considerable energy to getting these things right, and it's always gratifying when it's appreciated!

God (which is ME in this case!) is in the details!

Well, first I would not call this "heavily detailed". Inasmuch as this is a recreation, not a reimagining or a completely original drawing, it's understandable that the customer would want to make sure he got what he was after -- ie, a pretty close duplication of the original image.

What I prefer NOT to see is the customer trying to "write" the commission. All too often we run into the same problems there that I have been seeing lately when working off the full scripts of other writers in actual comics. The same rookie mistakes of writing real movement, for instance, of characters or "camera" or both. Or of asking for an image that is actually a view from multiple directions.
