My favourite suits, maybe Batman, Spider-Man (both red-black and black-white, I can't make my mind), Thor. And what I'm going to say is probably a blasphemy here, but I don't mind Superman's new suit. He's always been my favourite character, and I'm fond of the traditional suit. But I understand this new design without trunks may work better for new readers into the 21st century. Circus artists had similar suits with those trunks, but if that doesn't work today, I'm not against updating the suits. Also, I like the solution they've found of changing the belt's colour into red in order to replace the red of the trunks. The high neck and the armourlike appearance are unnecesary changes though. (I've edited this after reading the next post. Thanks)

Okay, they aren't "underpants", they are trunks. Underpants implies under pants, hence not visible. In fact he may now have underpants with his new suit.

Nah, messing with Superman's costume is blasphemy pure and simple. If the readers are too sophisticated for trunks, they're too sophisticated for capes, chest logos, comics, men overpowering locomotives. Generation after generation have had no problem with the classic costume, including a very wide cross-section of 'civilians' who paid to see Donner's Superman, so I don't see what's so different about today's audience (which is, let's face it, tiny, aging and who grew up with the classic costume anyway).

As promised upthread, here are photos of our DIY Halloween costumes and props. My son and I made a custom Scarlet Spider suit (could not get the eyes or the spider like we had planned), and we both designed and constructed our own webshooters: his are on his wrists, mine are the top and front view depicted below.

Okay, they aren't "underpants", they are trunks.•• "Underpants" is part of the list of code words to use when showing one's contempt for these characters. "Spandex" is another. And since Joe Johnston's pontifications on Captain America's real uniform, we can apparently add "pajamas".

Outside of the usual fantastic designs/costumes, Spider-Man/Superman/Batman generally, these are the ones that thrill me. Also, Kirby's Hulk, the real Hulk

one costume I haven't seen and really like is on an obscure hero, LSH member Matter-Eater Lad.
***
I always chuckle at characters with "lad" in their name. "Lad" can mean something quite rude in Ireland.
Costumes:
Daredevil Red Dark Phoenix Dr. Doom Magneto Mr. Miracle

I like the "classic" looks of Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Daredevil, Green Lantern (GA and SA), Flash (GA & SA), Aquaman, etc.
I really like the Atom's SA costume with the red and blue "change" from the top to the bottom - top: red gloves, etc. on a blue background
- bottom: blue boots on a red background
as well as the cut out ears, the atom symbol on the head and belt, the "pointed" boots and gloves. I think the entire costume is great.
