So... there's a guy on ebay from the Philippines that makes life-size statues of Marvel and DC characters, as well as Disney, WB, Shogun Warriors, etc...

and I want the Shogun Warriors Mazinga in the middle...
These things range from $700-$1500, along with $400 in shipping. I want many of them... Some of the faces are better then others. Superman: a bit creepy. Martian Manhunter: awesome...
I'm very happy that the Batman statue is not the costume I'd want. if it looked like a Sprang or Neal Adams/Garcia Lopez style costume, I'd have one on a slow boat to Ohio right now...
So, are these like a commission, or just plain illegal bootlegs?

Wow, some of those are awesome. I agree about the faces. It seems he hasn't quite mastered sculpting a normal human face sans mask-- the worst of the bunch, facially, are Superman and Wonder Woman (hard to say about Thor, since his face is shadowed.)
If that Wonder Woman's face was a bit less harsh and masculine, I'd have to try very hard to talk myself out of spending $1000+ for a lifesized tchotchke.

These are cool. That is a great price to be honest. A Bowen sized statue from a pro sculpter will cost you about the same if not more. Very cool indeed.

I found the prices extremely reasonable... but that might be due to a combo of location, and not having to pay Marvel & DC...I have a feeling that the Mazinga I want would run me around $2500. I'm not sure I can spend that on a giant robot right now. I think I'd rather have more artwork.
But, like I said, if they had a Batman that was straight out of 1982, and it was $1200 shipped.... It'd be mine. I also really like the Captain America. He's a bit more money (min $2000 shipped) then Batman, but geez he's cool. Maybe touch up the eyes a bit...

Good Lord, I gotta win me a MegaMillions or Powerball right quick! Those are amazing! Other than Cap looks like he's wearing lipstick, I agree with JB. Wallace, I most enthusiastically second your Captain Marvel suggestion (and thank you for not calling him SHAZAM! Er, you did mean the real, original Captain Marvel, right?). Hey, howsabout a Wolverine in his brown costume, hmm?

Hulk is life size???
Cap and Thor my favorites. I mean, for a moment Cap looked like a living person.
Taz would have been my third but he is too shine so i will give it to Wolvie.

Shaun echoes my sentiments. The Hulk isn't particularly in a style I like, but that picture of the guy standing in front of him and between Cap and Thor shows just how great they'd look in "real life."
In fact, that Cap and Thor look more "real" to me than any of the shots I've seen from the upcoming movies! Very cool!
