This is yet another amazing FF piece from JB. Just amazing.

I think that somewhere in an alternate universe, comic fans are getting this FF by JB...and we're getting...well, what we're getting.

Great pages Mr. Byrne. I miss your Fantastic Four a lot and I hope one day you could return.

Nice piece of work.  Of course, I'd love to hear what the recipient of this commission had in mind for the story behind this scene, too.

It does sadden me to see how the "professionals" now controlling the comicbook industry are all about "growing roses", as JB put it.  I've been kind of doing that myself, but as a fan-artist.  If I had entered the industry as I originally planned to, perhaps I'd have learned that lesson about meeting deadlines long before now.

It makes me wonder what it'd take for things to revert to that level of professionalism.  Or is it too late?

I can't ever recall Doom actually using that sidearm of his in comics.

Did he ever and if so, what kind of gun is it?

One of the most iconic shots of Doom…

As I recall, Marvel even made a poster out of it.

JB, you have a wonderful talent for not just creating nice images, but creating an image that actually tells a story. Marvelous.

That is a good looking gun. Kirby was always very original with his designs.
