The dry brush gives it a 3-D effect. Nice!

Clearly, this needs to be a FAQ!Dry brush is just what the name implies -- a brush that is not wet. Or, at least, not very wet. Just enough ink to produce a gray tone. Especially, as here, on textured paper.

I love your Marvel monsters. You keep outdoing yourself with these. Truly amazing. And I think there is once again a slight Paul Ryan influence in this work. I can't say if it's the hair, the eyes or maybe both.

Love the misty look, especially where it obscures the trees in the background. Parts of the drybrushing hint back to your work with duotone, and in a very good way. Another winner for Clint! (and a new-looking sig in the corner, don't remember seeing that before)

AWESOME !!!
I laughed when I looked at his pants -- I know the spotting is done that way for effect -- but what jumped to mind was being told to color in the same direction (when I was a kid).
This is in my top 10 favs for JB commissions.
NICE

VERY interesting approach!
The dry brush for the background really enhances the misty effect, the scribbles for the clothes show how tattered they are, and brush/linework on the body gives it a lot of depth.
I'm also seeing some of Austin and Simonson in the inking.
Well played, JB!

Very nice. Someone got their moneys worth.
Just curious, JB, how long did it take to complete this one?
