That would be wonderful, and might be the thing that would make me buy a
hard copy version.

That would be so cool! Talk about a nostalgia amplifier!

Yes! And maybe simulate mis-aligned colour plates or dropped plates on a few pages here and there.

The scans I’m seeing of the DC finest are interesting. But these are not
available on digital, which is a real shame.
There is also a new (to me anyway) Kindle that seems to de-brighten (is
that even a word???) the colours of digital comics - I’m seriously looking at
this for when my (apparently) positively ancient iPad falls over.

Which makes me wonder who wrote the cover copy...

While I love the 60s Marvel copy, they made you want to read it so badly, I think a lot of JBs covers didn't need it - and am glad Alpha Flight issue 10 had no copy. (Angry Sasquatch) and think issue 20 (Gilded Lily) would have been just as effective without.

Usually, tho not always, the editors handled the cover copy.

(I remember Chris being furious when, after we’d spent months cautiously building the romance between Danny and Misty [remember the time!] in IRON FIST, we ran a cover of Danny fighting Colleen Wing. The editor slapped a big banner on it declaring IRON FIST VS THE WOMAN HE LOVES! and for months after the readers squawked every time we showed Misty and Danny together. “What about Colleen?!?”)

That cover, btw, was a hard lesson in how tenuous was our grasp over the attention span of some fans. After months of building Danny/Misty, it took but a single cover blurb to demolish our work.
